About LuxmanorThe Luxmanor Citizens Association was formed on January 31, 1938 when all nine families in the area formed an association to more effectively oppose the threatened abandonment by Capitol Transit Company of the bus line on Old Georgetown Road. The bus line was ordered continued when the new association presented its evidence. Incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1966, the association represents the more than 850 families now living in the community. The Citizens Association holds at least one general meeting yearly; the Executive Board meets once a month. All residents are welcome to attend any Board meeting. The neighborhood newspaper, The Greensheet, and this website will inform as to time and place of the meetings. The Association also holds parties, picnics, arts and crafts shows and community Holiday Sings. The community is a vibrant mix of old and new. The community is made up of original families and new generations. Grounded in the past, while striving for the future, Luxmanor embraces family, sharing and the environment. |
