Important Statement from the LCA Public Safety committee;
Recently there have been at least two incidents involving the detonation of homemade explosive devices within our community. Theses devices were constructed of common cleaning/industrial solutions placed inside plastic bottles. According to the Montgomery County Fire Marshall’s Office and the Montgomery County Police, a chemical reaction occurs which causes the device to detonate. THESE DEVICES ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. If you see one, DO NOT TOUCH IT OR ATTEMPT TO REMOVE IT. Call 911 immediately. County authorities are currently investigating these incidents as serious crimes and they will be prosecuted as such. The manufacture, possession and/or use of these devices is a felony under Maryland law. If you, or anyone you know has any information regarding these incidents and/or the person or persons responsible, contact Lt.
